The school logo was created as a whole school project. We discussed the various groups in and around Gascoyne Junction and came up with three distinct groups; the station owners, Indigenous population and the town people. The children brainstormed possible symbols or logos for each group and came up with a windmill to represent the station owners, the thorny devil represented the local Aboriginal culture and the cockatoo represented the town where they like to sit in the trees. The circle was divided into a Y representing the rivers coming together at the Junction. It was we all decided that it would be better to have the Y as a peace sign indicating that it was bringing all groups together. Our motto came from this: Together we Succeed (the blending of all groups working together to educate our children).
